Happy Birthday Frank Love!
Frank can’t be with us to share his birthday. He would be 70 today. In this picture, he was 17, in Toronto Ontario Calgary Alberta (oops) when someone snapped this street shot. I painted it up for Adam this Christmas.
Adam (his son, my boyfriend), apparently adopted his pa’s style when he was younger, blazer, hair combed up and back, t-shirt and all, a spitting image of his father depicted here. The more I poured my attention into the original photo, the more features I found familiar in Frank.
He had his whole life ahead of him here, his family just a twinkle in his eye. Now he remains in our memories and in the amazing family he created. Maybe we’ll bring him a Timi’s coffee tomorrow morning, or a Coors light, sit and have a chat at his grave side. Maybe he would laugh at us for such sentiments, but hey, we’ll laugh right along with him.
